- Life of Fred Pre-Algebra 1 with Biology - usually used as supplemental can be standalone.

- Saxon 8/7 and/or Saxon Algebra 1/2
- Saxon is highly spiral. There are many lessons where you work on one concept and piece together the steps over time. It is not for everyone at this level and consider if it really suits your child's learning style. If they seem to be struggling or hit a wall, it is time to consider a different mastery-based or traditional curriculum.
- If you are not sure which one, use 8/7. If your student does well, then you can skip 1/2, if they are still struggling, you can use 1/2 for more practice.
